Narative Writing
Lately we have been doing something called narative writing. we got to pick anything wether it fiction or non-fiction... I picked to make one up/fiction.
Here is the writing.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It all started on a stormy night like tonight. The sky was grey and no-one was to be seen. ZAP!! Went the lightning onto the road. There was a bunch of steam and then came a ventriloquist dummy named Punchy.

Punchy wanted to be loved by someone, anyone.
He just wanted to be loved.
His last family left him at an abandoned house and
he was never to be seen… until today.

Frank & Ronal through a window,
He picked them up with the force and ran into
the middle of the street the he got zapped by a streak
of lightning and after the steam fluttered away,
they were nowhere to be seen.

but they didn't know what to do,
then they went to a garage sale and saw heaps
of old junk that would be useful
to them. They looked at each other with

They were ordered to create a character of him.
They set off finding the materials
they needed to make it. They searched their
house and tried to find anything that
they could use for the character! They thought
long and hard and then finally
came up with what they were going to make
to be created as a villain.
They found metal in the garage to use for the eyeballs.
They cut out 2 small
circles and 2 medium circles, they painted the smalls ones
blue for the eyeballs,
they just needed wood and brick.

CyberSmart
Cyber smart is coming to a sad end for this year😜 *wink face* in term 1 we learnt about keeping safe online then in term 2 we learnt about public and private information and what you can and cant share smart relationships and term 4 we learnt about being a smart user.
My favorite thing was researching everything,
Something I didn't enjoy was all the blogging,
She helped when we needed help,
Something she could do better:NOTHING AT ALL.
Overall cybersmart was fun and worth my time.

Science Roadshow
Today we/7AL & 7TZ went to the learning street and done some awesome science stuff, like experiments and basic stuff like ice and fire show and a reproduction show. Overall it was fun I had so much fun. My favorite part tied was a chair where when you put your hands near your chest you would spin faster and if you done the opposite it would go slower, and my other favorite was when you were behind a round curtain and the curtain would turn around you and it would feel like you were spinning.

Science, Week 9, 21st September
Today in science we done a experiment with a 10c coin, heres what you need,
-
Heat Mat
Bunsen Burner
Tripod
Gauze Mat
Bunsen Burner
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So once you have collected all of those you need to set it up in the obvious way. Heat Proof Mat, Bunsen Burner on top of that, Tripod hovering over top, Gauze Mat on top of the Tripod and then Bunsen Burner.
Put zinc-nitrogen in-to the Busen Burner and put in on orange flame until its boiling the change the flame to blue put the 10c coin in for 10 mins and then get it out and put it under water then put it under the blue flame for 5 mins and wet it the wipe it with a paper towel
What does it look like? Why does it look like that?

Orana Wildlife Park
When I got to school on Tuesday the 18th of September I felt adrenaline rushing through
my body as I was nervous but at the same time excited. When we were on the bus me and
Jayden were talking and in the time of 10 minutes we were there.

When we got to Orana Park we were told some safety rules and then we went to animal school.
We learnt about the Kiwi and Kea. Did you know that the kiwis bones are not hollow like most
other birds? Did you also know that chocolate is toxic for Kea’s?

Then we went and saw those fabulous animals. After that we went and saw some birds.
Then we saw some Spider Monkeys. Did you know Spider Monkeys tails are stronger than their
arm? Then we saw the almighty Tiger. Did you know that if tiger are not fixed they will do something
called squirting so that other tigers know that it is that tiger territory?

Then we saw the lion. The lion leaders name is Khan, he tries to scare you by hiding behind a
bush and waiting for you to walk past. Then we saw the cute Tasmanian Devils. But when they
open their mouth it isn't so cute. Then we saw the horse with stripes… or better known as the
Zebra. Zebra are actually black with white stripe not white with black stripes. Then we saw the
Buffalo… man they were big. Then we saw the Cheetah. Did you know that the Cheetah is the
fastest animal to live? Then we saw the Apes also known as the Gorilla. Then we saw the
Orangutan. Did you know that they wear sacks on their head and sunhats.
Then we saw the Addax. This animal is not really known by a lot of people.
Then we saw the Rhino. Did you know that a Rhinos horn is made out of the same
thing our nails and hair is made out of...also known as keratin? Then we saw the Giraffes
and we feed them. Did you know that Giraffes tongues are naturally pink but they turn purple
to not be harmed by the sun...like sunscreen?

Testing For Simple Sugars
Testing For Simple Sugars
Aim
I want to find out how to test for simple sugars.
Simple sugars are carbohydrates that are quickly absorbed by the body to produce energy. They are also classified
as “simple” because they contain only one or two units of sugar or saccharides.
Also referred to as simple carbohydrates, these sugars are found naturally in a variety of
foods that we consume daily.

Equipment
- Safety glasses
- Bunsen burner
- Test tubes
- Test tube tongs
- Benedict's Solution
- Food sample
Method
- Place about 2mL of the food sample into a test tube and then add 5 drops of Benedict's solution and 5ml of water
- Gently heat the test tube over a blue flame. DO NOT BOIL!
Results
A positive test for simple sugar results in Benedict's Solution changing from a blue colour to a yellow colour to an orange/red colour.
Conclusion
First it was blue but then it turned green then orange or red overall I turned out good
Extra for experts
Two different types of sugar exist: simple and complex. Complex sugar takes longer for your body to break down and is healthier for your body. This type is found in natural carbohydrates such as whole grains and fruit. On the other hand, simple sugar is broken down by your body quickly and causes energy ups and downs. This type of sugar includes refined and processed sugar found in table sugar and added to many sweets. Consuming an excess of simple sugar comes with numerous health problems
- Give two examples of simple sugars and complex sugars in your daily food.
- At what times of the day may you need simple sugars?
- Do you think that it would be wise to eat simple sugars before bed? Why/why not?

Filipino Presentation
Recently we had a Filipino presentation about them and their culture. They showed us some of their greetings and their national dances and finally some games. My favourite part was the games. You had to hit the can over and if you missed you had to try to get it without getting tagged, it was fun. The second game was to jump over someone in several levels. Level one was on your hands and knees and then you rise up and up until someone gets hit getting jumped over, then it restarts for everyone. I never Failed, not once, that was my favourite game out of the two. Here's a picture of us playing Luksong Baka.
