Chromatography Experiment

Chromatography

Aim: To separate colours by using the process of chromatography.

Definition: A technique for separating the different parts of a mixture / solid using liquid.

Materials-

1. Paper 

2. Cup

3. Red felt 

4. Green felt

5. Black felt 

6. Ruler 

7. Pencil 

Process-

Step 1: Get a piece of paper and rule up a 2 cm(Center meter) line and 1 cm(Center meter) line on opposite sides with a pencil.

Step 2: Color on the 1 cm(Center meter) side green in one side of the paper black on the other and red in the middle.

Step 3: Hang it on the side of a cup.

Step 4: Fill the cup up until it only just touches the paper but not the colors

Step 5: Make sure it wont fall in.

Step 6: What happens?

Findings: The colors show what colors are inside the colors.

Reflection: It was fun and interesting and so fascinating how the colors change to show what makes them.

Tane Mahuta

I am a part of Tane Mahuta Group, our job is to search our school for areas we can make look better and be better by cleaning rubbish and dumping waste so we have more room to enable the students at Hornby High School to have more exciting opportunity's.

My favorite area in the school is the orchard at the back of the field because it supply's us with yum food(Plums) and there is a place just outside of it where we can clean up and make it look better, and even better there is a big plot of land the we own that has never been used and we can think of something that we think will benefit us in a way were everyone will get the better from it.

My best idea for that plot of land is to make it a place where we can supply the kids that cant get enough food for their lunches and we can pick the fruit that grows and put it in there so it is easy to get food to the people that need it the most, my other idea was to make it a garden shed for the community around us to use to keep their garden going of even to use them to start up a garden so they can use the vegetables and fruit they grow in their meals instead of buying it

Stop Motion

Lately we have been doing stop motion in class for 2 weeks and we made a storyboard and a script. You may be asking yourself some question so i'm going to answer them for you.

What is a stop motion? It's where you make a video out of photos.

What have I done so far? Script stop motion and about to start the photo side of things.

What do I still need to do? Photos and put them together.

My Storyline.

Man on stage tries to scam people for there mums credit card.

James and crowd kid fall into the trap.

He takes the money and spends it.

He gets a car and karma hits him.
